This type of treatment involves therapeutic assessment, manipulation, and movement of the locomotor soft tissues to reduce or eliminate pain or dysfunction. A unique multidisciplinary approach is utilized to restore structural balance throughout the body, which allows focus on prevention and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal dysfunctions, chronic pain and sports injuries. Primary modalities include functional assessment, deep tissue therapy, myofascial release, neuromuscular therapy, fascial stretch therapy, scar tissue mobilization techniques, neuromuscular re-education, PNF stretching, strengthening, postural correction and sport specific corrective exercise.
Fascial Stretch Therapy™ is assisted stretching performed on a specially designed treatment table equipped with comfortable padded straps that stabilize the parts of the body not being worked on.
Fascia is the connective tissue that surrounds & invests all structures of the body. The problem is that fascia will thicken & shorten when any of your tissues are under stress from poor posture, lack of exercise, injury, surgery, disease or over-training.
While many therapies can help these conditions, only FST™ can completely treat inflexible fascia at the deepest level - your joint capsule. After we help make all of your layers of fascia become more pliable & hydrated then joint range of motion, muscle strength & flexibility immediately improves making it easier for you to train & maintain.
Therapeutic massage involves the manipulation of the soft tissue structures of the body to prevent and alleviate pain, discomfort, muscle spasm, and stress; and, to promote health and wellness. AMTA defines Massage as, "a manual soft tissue manipulation that includes holding, causing movement, and/or applying pressure to the body."
Massage therapy is " a profession in which the practitioner applies manual techniques, and may apply adjunctive therapies, with the intention of positively affecting the health and well-being of the client." (AMTA)
Massage therapy improves functioning of the circulatory, lymphatic, muscular, skeletal, and nervous systems and may improve the rate at which the body recovers from injury and illness. Massage involves holding, causing movement of soft tissue, and/or applying pressure to the body.
